Publishing is only the first step. Readers must be able to find your book. Here are practical, low-cost ways to promote it online.
1. Make sure the book page is complete
A good online listing has a clear title, a front cover image, the ISBN, a readable description, the author’s name and the price. Descriptions should say who the book is for and what they will learn.
2. Write for search
Think of the words a student or teacher would type: the subject, the course, the level. Use these naturally in the description and in articles you write about your subject.
3. Share on social media
Post the cover, a short note on why you wrote the book, and a link to the book page. LinkedIn works well for academic and professional books; Facebook and WhatsApp groups work well for students and teachers.
4. Tell your own institution
Inform your department and library. Recommending the book in your syllabus or reading list is the most natural way academic books reach students.
5. Write short articles
A few short articles on topics from the book show your expertise and bring readers to the book page.
6. Ask for honest feedback
Ask colleagues and readers to share genuine reviews. Never invent reviews or testimonials.
7. Be patient and consistent
Book sales usually grow slowly. Regular small efforts work better than one burst of promotion, and results are never guaranteed.
